Lady Sport Riders Scholarship Program

Established in December 2001, the Lady Sport Riders Scholarship program (whereas known as LSR) awards scholarships to talented, highly motivated, high school seniors who have demonstrated financial need and social commitment.

GUIDELINES: Each year, several students will be awarded a Lady Sport Riders Scholars and will receive a minimum of $1,000. The recipients may use the scholarship to attend the college or university of their choice. Scholarships are not limited to any specific demographic, field or career objective and may be used to pursue any academic discipline. Each applicant must meet the following requirements:

  • A graduating high school senior
  • GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • 200 hours of Community service
  • SAT score of 850 minimum


SELECTION:
LSR Scholarship recipients are selected in the spring prior to entering college. Scholarship winners are selected on the basis of their applications and written essay. You DO NOT have to be a Maryland resident or Female to be eligible.


APPLICATION DEADLINE: Scholarship applications must be postmarked no later than April 30, 2010 of the student's senior year of high school. Names of finalists will be posted on the LSR website at the end of May. Please download the guidelines and application to begin the process.

SCHOLARSHIP CONDITIONS: LSR Scholarships may be used to supplement benefits for the college or university a student plans to attend. Students may use the scholarship to cover the costs of tuition, fees, books, room and board, computers and other college-related expenses.
